Why Metabolic theory? - Why Re.Generate?

Would you like to learn alongside others like you in a program that acknowledges the shifts and changes in day to day life and responds to the context we are in? A supportive practice and learning group that instead of offering whats “right and what wrong”, supports a growing understanding of well being and health based on respectful engagement, shared information and suggestions to encourage feedback about what supports you.

I wont be talking about whats 'good' or 'bad' for you. Instead, we will be exploring foods, environments, and substances that are metabolically supportive and those that are not from a place of context, understanding, patience, and support to experiment, explore and learn together.

Looking at the “assumptions of science”, we will consider at what we 'think we know' exploring in a way that is informal and accessible, yet detailed and of direct experience. It may just offer some insight and answers as to how we may improve warmth, long life, health, and strength, as well as offering different ways of approaching chronic disease, depression, and ageing.

“Perceive. Think. Act:”

“Harry's course is fantastic, even if you know a lot about "nutrition" and different dietary types, this takes what you know, turns it upside down and inside out to bring different, very well researched factual content to bring you a completely new perspective on many aspects. I thoroughly enjoyed both his broad depth and specific knowledge and his engaging delivery. I would thoroughly recommend it”

— Chanan, Re.Generate Participant

What IS Metabolic Health?

The Metabolic Intro evenings are designed to give you a short glimpse into the Metabolic Approach to Health.

Understanding the basics of cellular metabolism, stress, and the importance of energy is the first step along the path to health, warmth, and freedom.

Intro

The Bioenergetic model doesn’t really deal in “right and wrong”, but it does ask us to step back and see the whole picture.

What’s on Offer?

The Metabolic Intro evening will introduce you to a few of the basic underpinnings of Metabolic Theory, including topics such as;

  • How the environment affects our cells capacity to generate energy

  • What energy is and why it matters so much in health and life.

  • How calorie restriction and “dieting” for fat loss can make things worse from a health perspective.

  • What stress really is and how it affects us in day to day life.

  • Two Bioenergetic viewpoints to take away and experiment with.

Our introduction and theory time will take about two hours and will then be followed by an open-ended Q&A/discussion space.

Following this I will leave you with handouts, resources, and links for your own reading and self-confirmation, as well as a few experiments for you to try out yourself.

“Being a student is easy. Learning requires actual work.”

For Transparency

You do not have to learn this knowledge with Re.Generate - There are articles, videos, talks, and resources which I will be happy to direct you to if you wish to do your own learning.

However - learning with me lets you practice and understand the concepts and integrations that have taken me many months of reading, watching, and hard learning to acquire - and to do it in a slow paced and supported environment alongside others.
